Preconception care for men and women involves diet and lifestyle advice and modifications in addition to acupuncture and chinese herbal medicine. This care provides a healthy environment, both mind and body, to conceive or start an IVF/ICSI/IUI cycle.

Treatment should start at least 3-4 months prior to conception or commencement of an IVF/ICSI/IUI cycle to improve your overall health which in turn improves the quality of the eggs and sperm, prepare the uterine lining, balance the hormones, and reduce any stress and anxiety.

In some situations women have a known cause that may be making conception more difficult. Conditions such as endometriosis and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) often interfere with conception. Other issues, such as hormonal imbalances, fibroids, an ovulation and endometrial lining problems can also cause difficulties in conceiving. Absent or irregular menstruation, early menopause and weight issues are other factors which often contribution to conception problems. All of these issues respond well to acupuncture and herbal medicine, combined with lifestyle and diet modifications.

Many women also have difficulty conceiving with no known cause, if this is the case, treatment will involve regulating your cycle, nutritional and supplement advice, education in determining when you are ovulating, including conception timing, fertile mucous education and basal temperature taking.
